MintDefense just works, I love seeing it pop up on each contract so I know I’m safe. It’s definitely saved me at least 1 time and in web3, 1 time is all a scammer/drainer needs.
Thanks to @MintDefense, I would have been stolen, due to euphory, most probably. But I receive the huge red notification. Then I slowed down, chez was the wrong twitter account... A great lesson. I would lost without protection. I didn't get stolen, but the story is there
Honestly pretty damn fired up using the @MintDefense extension. It works seamlessly and who wouldn't want real time security when connecting your metamask to sites? Excellent security product for anyone in #web3 and look forward to the future of this project
The @MintDefense team have built a trustworthy product that has successfully found multiple scams for me over the past few months. Today they provided some proactive and transparent comms to their community. This is what Web3 is about. Kudos
I remember the days of navigating web3 sites, terrified of clicking into the wrong one and being robbed blind. Those days seem to have come to an end with the @MintDefense extension. Never felt safer in the wild west era of web3/NFTs.
I’m so glad to be a member! Every time I log into some site, I see the Mint Defense banner and it reminds me to pay attention. Last week I inadvertently clicked on a link and up popped at RED “This site is a known scam to MintDefense”! Instant reminder of the value!
Installed @MintDefense late yesterday and went to bed. Woke up this morning and started checking my normal communities/sites and see MintDefense seamlessly checking/scanning. Love the small reminder that its active and checking for security concerns. Brings peace of mind!
@MintDefense has been phenomenal over the last few months. The piece of mind it’s given me while researching & minting is priceless! I remember when I first began dabbling in Web3 & every contract interaction was nerve racking! @MintDefense is a must have for the Web3 investor!
MintDefense is designed for inexperienced and experienced users. Inexperienced users don't need Web3 knowledge to use it and be protected from scam sites. Experienced users with Web3 knowledge also benefit from the same protection.
No Antivirus or security solution is 100% effective. This also applies to MintDefense, which protects you against 99.9% of malicious sites that steal your crypto and NFTs.
MintDefense works with MetaMask on Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Brave, Edge, etc.) on PC, Mac, and Linux computers. Other browsers, such as Firefox, will be supported in the future.
MintDefense only scans websites that have Web3 activity.
No. It can't control your MetaMask wallet and doesn't have access to your seed phrase or private keys.
Only a little bit. For legitimate sites, MintDefense's scans usually last 1~ second. If MintDefense believes the site could be malicious, it will take up to 5~ seconds to determine it.
Not yet. For most Web3 users, we recommend not using mobile for crypto.
It works on up to 5 devices in the same location. Since it works based on devices, you can use as many wallets as you want. VPNs in the same geolocation should not affect MintDefense.
The code for all Chrome extensions published in the Chrome
Store is open source. Anyone can access it, and it
can't be obfuscated per Chrome Store's policy.
MintDefense's algorithm is not open source for two
1- If scammers learn how MintDefense's algorithm detects scams, they will develop ways to circumvent them, endangering our users.
2- MintDefense is the only paid Web3 security solution because it focuses on detecting scams. The algorithm and its engines are proprietary to protect our intellectual property.
Would you give the world the keys to your house's alarm system? We wouldn't. That's why MintDefense is closed source.
No. MintDefense sits between your wallet and Web3 sites. When it detects Web3 interaction, it analyzes it and protects you from malicious sites.
No. MintDefense does not protect you against files in your device's hard drive. We recommend you not download files from unknown sources on the computer you manage crypto at.
MintDefense should work with other Web3 security
extensions, but we recommend using only MintDefense as
your Web3 security guardian. This recommendation also
applies to antiviruses. If you already have one on your
computer and try to install another one, it will warn you
to uninstall the current one to proceed.
If you want to use it alongside other extensions, the result can be that it shows it is scanning before or after them. In some cases, it can stop other extensions from working or lead them to malfunction. And in the worst case, other extensions may stop or lead MintDefense to malfunction.
